Arlington Ranks Among Top 25 Best Places to Live in the U.S., No. 2 in North Texas

Arlington has ranked No. 22 on Livability.com’s latest list of the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the U.S. This ranking places the city as No. 2 best place to live in north Texas and No. 5 in all of Texas.

Livability.com cites Arlington’s entertainment and recreation options, central location within the DFW-Arlington metroplex, affordability, stable job market and UT Arlington as top reasons to move to Arlington. They also note the city’s contribution to the north Texas economy, citing advanced manufacturing, tourism and healthcare services as top performing sectors, as well as the presence of the General Motors Arlington Assembly plant.

The list analyzes more than 100 data points in eight essential categories to measure a city’s overall health and “fun factor,” including: economy & housing (prioritizing affordability), amenities & environment, safety, health & education and transportation. The Top 100 cities outpace more than 2,000 U.S. cities with populations between 75,000 and 500,000 with a median home value under $500,000.
